Once you've created a step in your videoask and chosen how you'd like people to respond, you may decide to change the answer type to collect a different type of response or build a different kind of flow.
However, it's important to note that once you've collected responses for a step, you won't be able to change the answer type. Therefore, it's best to make any necessary changes before you start receiving responses.

From your VideoAsk account, select the videoask you want to edit. Click Build to open the videoask builder.
Click the step you'd like to edit.
💡Tip: Hover over a step and click Answer for a sidebar shortcut to change the answer type.
Select your desired answer type from the dropdown menu in the right-hand sidebar.
The answer type that is currently selected will display in preview mode.
Change the answer type when you've already received responses
If you've already collected responses and you'd like to change the answer type you can:
- Delete responses collected for that videoask and then follow the above steps.
- Duplicate the videoask step (the new step will not include any responses collected in the original step).

Duplicate your videoask (this will create a new share URL and will not include any responses collected in the original videoask).
Note: Once deleted, responses cannot be restored. We recommend exporting or downloading responses before deleting them.
